PPC’s Lending Academy
Kick off the summer with PPC’s Lending Academy, May 7-8, 2025. This 2-day school in Charlotte, NC, will train all lenders, new and seasoned, on credit scores and decision making. We must lend through the ups and downs; it’s all about finding the ‘right fit’ solution for our members and doing it in a way that manages risk effectively. We will show you how. Take advantage of Valerie Lentz’s 25+ years of underwriting experience and passion for lending to educate members on how to pay less and earn more.
The 2-days will cover
- What it means to be a credit score educator and how it can differentiate you as a lender
- Understand the 5 components of the credit score to learn the trend of the score.
- FICO vs VantageScore: What’s the right scoring model for your credit union? Understanding how the different models work and how to educate our members.
- Be a curious lender: How to take a conversational loan application and develop the full financial picture to look for compensating factors to approve more loans.
- Unsecured lending: How to build a consolidation loan when unsecured debt is rising. Think outside the box.
- Use PPCs Lending Meters to find the right Secured and Unsecured loan amount for every borrower.
- Use PPC’s All In Lending will have your team cross-selling all products the member qualifies for vs the one and done.
- Wrap up the 2-days using your new skills: Where’s the risk? Scenario based training to help you ‘define’ and ‘manage’ risk effectively.
